The Tesla Transformer is a high frequency transformer invented by Nikola Tesla. It works on a resonant principle, so its circuits need to be tuned for best performance. It is used to obtain very high voltages. Tesla's transformer is essentially a simplified version of the Tesla Coil Magnifier, with which Nikola Tesla likes to experiment.

The transformer is made up of two ossair coils with different number of threads. The source of the primary high frequency voltage is a muted spark oscillator (on the basis of a spark, powered by e.g. a sparking a spark. From a high-voltage transformer.
