The physical nature of the hazing and freezing of the windshields in the car.
The amount of water vapour that is able to hold the air without condensing is heavily dependent on temperature. When the warm air suddenly cools, the overair water vapor therefore condenses - it creates a mist, when in contact with a cool surface on the nem water vapour condenses, and if this surface is cooled, it is created to incapate.
The temperature at which water vapour in the air is just saturated and starts to precipitate is called a dew point. The calculation values of the dew point are given in Table F 2 of STN 73 0540-3: 94 for the specific temperature and relative humidity of the air.
While at 20o C it holds 17g of water per m3 of air, at 0 °C it is only 4.8g of water per m3 of air. A simple and familiar example of condensation and hazing even at room temperature is a breath on the glass.
Water vapour contained in breath at 30o C contains up to 28g of water per m3 of air, but at a glass temperature of 20 °C the air is only capable of taking 17g of water per m3 of air. Water that the air cannot hold condenses on the glass in the form of droplets.
The special filling and design of FoggyStop allows you to hold excess moisture up to 6g of water in a matter of hours to prevent it from condensing on the cool surface of the glass.
